On a warm evening towards the end of June, a diverse crowd of Z+D friends, industry collaborators, and notable figures from fashion, the arts, media, and the press gathered. At 8:15 PM, the Ciné’s doors opened, ushering in a buzz of anticipation. It was in 2013, a time when Greece was gripped by economic uncertainty and the word "crisis" seemed to shadow every conversation. Yet, amidst the turmoil, a simple romantic idea by Dimitra Kolotoura and Mareva Grabowski was quietly taking shape — ZEUS+DIONE. Since the very beginning, their mission was clear: to rediscover and revive Greek craftsmanship in challenging times. Their first strategic partnership was forged in the small town of Soufli, in Thrace, with the silkline of Kostas Mouchtaridis. The response was immediate and heartfelt, resonating far beyond the struggles of the economy. Since then, a fascinating journey across Greece has followed, with many significant stops, from Kastoria and the Cyclades to Argos, home to the workshop of designer and embroiderer Aristeidis Tzonevrakis, and Crete, discovering hidden workshops and talented artisans in every corner of the country, and forming a unified and powerful team. Fast forward to June 2023, celebrating its 10th anniversary with an iconic catwalk show in Piraeus, ZEUS+DIONE honoured all these Greek small trades while presenting its debut menswear collection under the creative direction of Marios Schwab.

All these narratives, and more, unfolded in the documentary titled "ORIGINS," and screened on June 26th. The title reveals the essence of the brand, digging into our roots and history. The audience was moved and deeply engaged as they witnessed the authentic stories of craftspeople on screen. Their words not only touched hearts but also offered valuable insights into Greece's rich artisanal heritage and showed how important it is to keep it alive and thriving in today’s world.

Produced by Avion Films with content direction by The Stimuleye - Antoine Asseraf, the film explored the myths, challenges, people, and places that define ZEUS+DIONE. René Habermacher's direction and artistic vision portrayed the brand's identity with sensitivity, illustrating how adversity can fuel creativity and resilience, paving the way for new opportunities and compelling stories.

P.S. Stay tuned on @zeusndione to follow the story of the "ORIGINS" documentary as it unfolds.
